Senior midfielder Justice Blay will be in Medeama’s team next season after Asante Kotoko failed to hire him when the transfer window ended on October 31.

The Porcupine Warriors had hoped to secure the services of the midfield dynamo on the deadline day, but no agreement could be reached between the club and Medeama.

Ghanasoccernet.com understands that the deal did not materialize, although Blay was interested in switching to Kotoko, because the Kumasi-based club could not meet Medeama’s financial demands.

The 28-year-old wanted to return to Kotoko on a permanent contract after a successful loan period last season that made him the darling of the club’s crowd of fans.

He returned to Medeama earlier this year after the 2019/20 season was cut short.

Blay has been impressive since joining his preseason training. He has scored in two games so far.

With Blay, Medeama will be confident of being title contenders for the new season that begins the second weekend of November.
