The Member of Parliament for the North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has said that the creation of the Oti region is not a significant achievement of the administration led by Nana Addo.

According to the former Deputy Minister of Education, the mere creation of the region is not reason enough for the region’s residents to vote and retain the PNP in government in the December 7 elections, as the NDC would have done the same if it had won the 2016 General Election.

Mr. Ablakwa made the statement at a mini rally held in Abotoase in the Biakoye constituency on the first day of a 2-day campaign tour of the Oti region by the party’s running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku -Agyemang.

He said: “What people want is development; they want jobs to do, they want new hospitals, new bridges, among others. The mere creation of the region on paper and then when you arrive in the region there is no development is not an achievement; that is not what the people want and the one who will bring the necessary development is none other than the NDC government and John Dramani Mahama ”.

He added that “we have all seen what she has done, we all know what Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has done as Minister of Education; I can see block E of the community day school here, a very beautiful school bus, the NDC brought electricity here, the East Corridor project was a project that the NDC started among many other things and I think that’s what we want, that It is what you want and you have to go and vote for John Dramani Mahama. “

Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang’s tour of the Oti region would include a visit to the electoral districts of Krachi East, West and Nchumuru on the first day.

On the second day of the tour, the team would be in the Nkwanta South and North constituencies to engage residents in NDC policies and projects ahead of the December general election.
