Former Hearts of Oak coach Kim Grant has criticized people who questioned the signing of Kofi Kordzi during his tenure as the club’s coach.
During Grant’s second year with the Rainbow club, he signed the burly forward despite skepticism about his weight.
Kordzi became a key cog for the club ahead of his $ 150,000 transfer to Qatar’s Al Muaither last month.
The 25-year-old had a debut delight for his new one when he shot home from close range against Al Shahania on Thursday.
Just hours after Kordzi’s magnificent debut, coach Grant took to Facebook to strike out at people who doubted the quality of the forward when he was determined to add him to his squad.
“Kofi Kordzi, proud of you brother, I remember when I signed you from an amateur club of the 3rd Division, people criticized me and you told me that you cannot run, you are overweight, after 7 months in the club you have been transferred and moved to other level.
“You have proven the skeptics wrong, you deserve this move. Excellent debut goal and hopefully more to come. ”He posted on his Facebook page a reaction to Kordzi’s goal for his club tonight.
