Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says that the ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP) has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that it is the people’s party.
Speaking during his tour of the Eastern Region, Vice President Bawumia stated that no party comes close to the PNP when it comes to social interventions, which look to the well-being of the people of Ghana.
“We are the party of the masses. The party of the people. The party of equal opportunities and the party of all Ghanaians,” said Dr. Bawumia.
He added that the Akufo-Addo government has created equal opportunities through thoughtful interventions and a comprehensive development agenda.
“Under Nana Akufo-Addo, NPP is showing that we are the government of equal opportunity. We are the government of the masses. We are providing equal opportunity for all Ghanaians.”
We are giving a grant for trainees teachers, we are giving a grant for nursing students, we are doing One Constituency One Ambulance, One District One Factory, One Constituency One Million Dollar, Nations Builders Corp, One District One Factory and Free Upper Secondary Education “.
“And we are going to give tertiary loans so that everyone has access to tertiary education. We also want the Zongo communities to have model high schools.”
Responding to former President John Mahama’s promise to create equal opportunity for Ghanaians if he has a second chance to be president, Vice President Bawumia challenged Mr. Mahama to show Ghanaians a unique opportunity that he created for all Ghanaians when he was President of Ghana before he was removed.
“For 8 years when he (Mahama) was in government as president and vice president, where was the equal opportunity he built for Ghanaians?” Dr. Bawumia asked.
“They can’t tell you what equal opportunities they have given our young people. Unemployment is not the same opportunity. Dumsor is not the same opportunity. Cancellation of student teacher assignment is not equal opportunity. SADA Akonfem is not equal opportunity. Equal opportunity. Cancellation of placement for nurse practitioners is not equal opportunity.
“We are the government of equal opportunities. The NDC is the government of akonfem and an inequality of opportunities.”
