The Scottish defender has revealed his ambition to play for the club he supported in his youth before hanging up his boots.
Liverpool left winger Andrew Robertson admitted he would “love” to play for Celtic towards the end of his career if he cannot retire at Anfield.
Robertson has enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence since completing a £ 8 million move to Liverpool from Hull City in the summer of 2017.
The 26-year-old has accumulated 119 appearances for the club in all competitions, establishing himself as one of the best sides in European football in the process.
He played a key role in Liverpool’s run to Champions League glory last season, and has built on that platform helping Jurgen Klopp’s team reach the top of the Premier League table.
The Reds were able to tie Robertson to a new long-term contract in January 2019, which will see him stay at Anfield until at least 2024.
The Scottish international insists that he would like to see his playing days in Liverpool, but also acknowledges that the opportunity to play at Celtic Park attracts him a lot due to the fact that he supported the Hoops when he was young.
Robertson even spent time in the Celtic Academy books before turning pro, and would enjoy the opportunity to return to the club one day as a senior star.

Liverpool were two wins away from securing a first high-flying crown in 30 years when the campaign was suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak on March 13.

Robertson had contributed a goal and seven assists to the Reds’ cause, and was receiving tips to earn a place in the PFA team of the year for the second straight season before the game stopped.
It is not yet known when or whether it will be safe to resume football in England, with a blocking status still in place in Britain, but the Premier League has outlined plans for a possible return to action in June.
