Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta will present to Parliament today estimates of government revenue and spending for January to March 2021.

The Minister will also present in advance the appropriation expenses for the same period next year.

This will help the next government, which will be sworn in in January next year, to carry out programs and activities for the first quarter of the year before the main budget for 2021 is released.

The three-month income and expenditure estimates will be the last budget of the current government.

If the government wins the next election, it will have the opportunity to publish the main budget for fiscal year 2021.

The last time a similar budget was prepared was in 2016, when former Finance Minister Seth Terkper presented the government’s revenues and expenditures from January to March 2017 to the Legislature.
