Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has challenged former President John Mahama to list the opportunities he created for youth during his tenure as President.
This is due to Mr. Mahama’s promises that the next NDC government will continue to create equal opportunities for all Ghanaians.
Speaking in Kpong on Tuesday during his tour of the Eastern Region, Dr. Bawumia questioned the sincerity and credibility of Mahama’s promise.
According to him, this is because the NDC presidential candidate has no record of creating equal opportunities as vice president and president.
“For 8 years, when you were in government as president and vice president, where was the equal opportunity that you created for Ghanaians?” Dr. Bawumia asked.
“They cannot tell you what equal opportunities they have given our youth.
“Unemployment is not equal opportunity. Dumsor does not offer equal opportunity. Cancellation of placement for trainee teachers is not equal opportunity. SADA Akonfem is not an equal opportunity.
“Cancellation of nursing internship assignment is not equal opportunity. The decline of agriculture is not equal opportunities, the neglect of the Zongos is not equal opportunities, the neglect of rural infrastructure is not equal opportunities ”, he listed.
But on the contrary, the vice president said that the PNP has proven to be the party of the masses by creating equal opportunities for all.
“We are giving subsidies to trainee teachers, we are giving subsidies to nursing apprentices, we are doing One Constituency One Ambulance, One District One Factory, Planting for Food and Jobs, absorbing exam fees for BECE and WASSCE exams, so which made graduate medical education free, provided drones to deliver urgently needed medicine in remote areas,
One million dollars per constituency, Nation Builders Corps and free high school education.
“And we are going to give loans to tertiary education students to help them access education. We also want Zongo communities to have models of high schools. “
He also urged Lower Manya voters to support President Akufo-Addo to continue his developments and comprehensive interventions, as well as the PNP parliamentary candidate, Theophilus Tetteh.
“We are the party of the masses. The village party. The party of equal opportunities and the party of all Ghanaians.
“Let’s vote four more for Nana and continue with the development,” he concluded.
