Veteran actor Fred Amugi has advised the youth of Odododiodio to stick together and not allow any politician or partisan to break their brow.

Amugi’s advice comes after the supporters of the two main political parties; The ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP) and the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) were involved in violent clashes on Sunday morning in the streets of Jamestown, Odododiodio, in the Greater Accra region.

Supporters on each side could be seen throwing crude weapons at their opponents in the fierce clashes just six weeks before this year’s general election.

People were injured in the riots.

Police investigate the matter

Speaking on CTV’s breakfast show ‘Anopa Dwabirem’ on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, the award-winning actor urged young people to join in.

He said: “If there’s a big man out there who gives you some GHS50 or GHS20 and some weed so that you are high to hurt someone, when you come to your senses and realize that you have hurt your own brother , what will you do? do?

“The Bible says, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

“You are a single people living together in one area. Don’t let two or three people or politics divide you.

“Let me remind you that many of these politicians have their visas and plane tickets ready, so don’t let them use them.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nii Lante Bannerman, the PNP parliamentary candidate for the constituency, has accused Mr. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, the incumbent MP, of planning attacks on PNP supporters in the area over the weekend. .

Bannerman demands the immediate arrest of all those involved in the riot, otherwise he and his followers would defend themselves.

In a press conference on Monday, October 26, 2020, Mr. Bannerman said: “This violence in the constituency is explicitly orchestrated by the sitting deputy whose personality and character represent the violence …

“I hereby urge the police, as a matter of urgency, to arrest these NDC thugs, otherwise our people will have no choice but to defend ourselves.”

But Vanderpuye has denied the claims and has described Bannerman as a liar.

He said, “What are you waiting for again? He is a liar, he was born a liar, he has become a liar and will continue to lie all his life.

“He lies like anyone at NPP.

“They lie from head to bottom, everyone between them lies.

“I, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, organized what happened yesterday. It is a pity.”
