Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should consider modifying the team’s formation to bring out the best in Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes. That’s according to club legend Gary Neville.
Pogba and Fernandes last started together in United’s 6-1 loss to Tottenham.
In the three games since then, Pogba has been named to the bench by Solskjaer, who has chosen to play in the midfielder trio of Fernandes, Fred and Scott McTominay.
Together the three players are unbeaten in the nine games they have started together under Solskjaer, leading to the suggestion that there is no place for Pogba in the squad.
But leaving the club’s record signing on the bench alongside summer signing Donny van de Beek means there are £ 125m of unused talent.

When Pogba and Fernandes have played together, it has been with the latter at No. 10 and the former in a deeper position.
But Neville feels that Solskjaer should see Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola bring out the best in Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva and do the same with Pogba and Fernandes.
“For me, I have never understood why Ole has not tried, maybe he has seen it in training and he does not like it, why he has not tried a babysitter with Pogba and Fernandes at the helm,” Neville said on Monday Football at night.
Like De Bruyne and Silva. De Bruyne and Silva were not disciplined midfielders before Pep Guardiola arrived at Manchester City. He turned them into that.

“I think it’s a problem when you have £ 150 million worth of midfielders in the bank.
“You have a player who won the World Cup, he’s been dominant in Europe with Juventus, he’s Manchester United’s record signing and yet he can’t get into the team right now.
“Patrice Evra and I did not agree before the game on Saturday. Patrice was disappointed with the team that was selected because he felt that Manchester United were rotating and not playing with their strongest team.
“I think Ole on Saturday thought it was the strongest team.”
