Tema Youth President Wilfred Osei Kwaku “Palmer” has endorsed Thomas Partey to “be better” than his idol Michael Essien.
Palmer insists the 27-year-old new Arsenal recruit will have a better impact than the Chelsea legend.
Partey has so far impressed in the Gunners jersey since completing the Atlético de Madrid trade.
And the president of Tema Youth, a team where Partey started his career as a teenager, Wilfred Osei Kwaku, argues that Partey has better qualities compared to iconic former Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien.
He told The Mail: “They share a similar role. Essien went from box to box and also applies brain work.
“Thomas has good timing, energy but not that boisterous.
“In terms of power and momentum, they have similar qualities.
“He can turn a defensive position into an offensive opportunity. He makes long search passes.
“Thomas will grow up and have better qualities than Essien, believe me. Yes, Thomas will give you something better.”
