The president, Nana Akufo-Addo, has started a four-day tour of the Greater Accra region with a prayer to God seeking grace for another term in government.
“I pray to God for the grace he gave me in 2016 so that he can honor me again in 2020,” he said.
On his first day, the president joined Resurrection Power New Generation Church in Tuba in the Ingleshie Amam constituency to worship, pray, and bless.
According to Akufo-Addo, the prayers he received from Pastor Resurrection Power led to his victory four years ago, the reason for his visit this year.
“Four years ago, I was here with a prayer request to achieve victory in the 2016 elections. The pastor helped me with prayers and God heard his prayers and I obtained a victory,” he said.
“The same reason has brought me here today, that as we approach December 7, for the elections, I beg God for the grace he granted me in 2016 to honor me again in 2020,” he said.
He said the pastor mentioned that there is a prophet in Israel (Resurrection Power New Generation Church)… so I came here this morning to beg Pastor Boakye to speak to God for me. “
Addressing parishioners, the president said his work in education, health, agriculture, security and general improvement in the lives of Ghanaians should be sufficient justification for his re-election.
“Everything we have done in education, health, employment, agriculture is the foundation of Ghana, and now we are going to build the country,” he said.
He noted that there is a need for him, as president, to travel the country to inspect the works assigned to him, the reason for the regular tour of the country every year.
“I have been to 15 regions of Ghana, today the Greater Accra Region begins and I must come here seeking blessings for Pastor Boakye to enable a successful tour,” he said.
He pleaded with the church members to “Vote 4 plus 4 Nana” and the parliamentary candidates.
