The presidential candidate of the opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC), Mr. John Dramani Mahama, has reaffirmed his commitment to elevate the Aiyinasi Health Center to polyclinic status if he is elected president of this country in the next general elections.

Mr. Mahama, as then president through Mr. Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah as Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, began the process of modernizing the Aiyinasi Health Center to a polyclinic state, but unfortunately, the La The administration lost power in 2016 and so far nothing has been done about it.

Aiyinasi is the largest and most populous city and also a commercial city in the Ellembelle district with more than 7,000 residents, but the only health center is the Health Center that cannot provide adequate medical care to its residents and other neighboring communities.

Addressing thousands of NDC supporters as part of his five-day campaign tour of the Western Region at the Aiyinasi Health Center park on Tuesday evening, Mr. John Mahama pledged to update the Health Center to a polyclinic state.

John Mahama was optimistic about winning the December 7 election, saying that much attention should be paid to the Aiyinasi Health Center to save more lives.

He congratulated Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah for adding some structures to the Aiyinasi Health Center.

“In 2016 we began to add structures to the existing ones but unfortunately we lost power and since then nothing has been done to this Health Center here but I promise the Chief and the people of Aiyinasi that when I come to power and with God I will win. This year’s election and I will turn it into a polyclinic, ”he promised.

Mahama, who has promised in his 2020 manifesto to build ultra-modern market centers in some parts of the country, also promised to build one for the good people of Aiyinasi in the Ellembelle district during his next administration.

“In my first term as president we built so many market centers and we promised in our manifesto that we will build more market centers across the country and we will build one in Aiyinasi in the Ellembelle district,” he said.

Therefore, he took the opportunity to commit to building a new district hospital in the Ellembelle district to save lives.

Ellembelle district is one of the western region districts that does not have a district hospital.

“We are going to build a new district hospital in Ellembelle,” he promised.

He added: “In 2016 I promised to build a district hospital in Ellembelle, but unfortunately I lost power, but I will keep my promise and since God is on our side, we will win the December 7 elections and the district hospital will be broadcast live. and in color. “.

Mr. Mahama commissioned the many NDC supporters to stand firm and vote en masse for him to come rescue this country from the corrupt hands, family and friends of the Akufo-Addo-led government.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to pay members of the Assembly in his next administration.

Speaking on behalf of the good people of Nzema Aiyinasi, Area Chief Nana Etwe Kpanyinli VI thanked former President John Mahama for committing to upgrade the Aiyinasi Health Center to polyclinic status.

He said the Health Center has vast land for the project and urged him to keep his promise when they give it the go-ahead.

He appealed to Mr. John Mahama to start the free bus program that would target students who walk a long distance to school.

He said the program would drastically limit the reporting of missing school children, especially in and around Aiyinasi.

The Chief took the opportunity to plead with Mr. John Mahama that when he wins the election and becomes the next president of Ghana, he should consider the Chiefs and pay them monthly allowances.
