The vice president of Barcelona, Jordi Cardoner, has pronounced on the vote of no-confidence that has to take place against the current Barcelona board of directors and has assured that it will not be possible to celebrate it before November 15.

Members signed a petition calling for a vote of no confidence, and after the 16,521 required signatures were surpassed, the vote was expected to take place on November 1-2. However, the coronavirus crisis has turned holding a vote into a logistical problem and Barcelona is asking for more time.

“If the voting protocol is approved, we will need at least two weeks to organize the logistics and it will not be possible to vote until November 15 or 16,” Cardoner told RAC1.

This stance has been met with fierce criticism from Barcelona opponents such as Víctor Font.

“This scandalous filibustering is an obstruction to the democratic rights of the members and harms the interests of Barcelona because all the decisions that are being taken that could jeopardize the future of the club should be taken in the context of a new project,” Font tweeted.
