A second medical clinic, funded by NBA icon Michael Jordan, has been opened in Charlotte, North Carolina.
On Monday (October 19), a year after Novant Health’s first Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic opened, the second facility opened thanks to a $ 7 million donation. The Charlotte Observer reports.
“My family is very proud to know that we are making a difference in Charlotte,” Jordan told the news outlet.
Established to serve underprivileged communities in North Carolina City, the facilities are available to those who do not have access to health insurance or are not insured by providing dental, physical and behavioral health benefits.
The clinic is equipped with 12 patient examination rooms, an X-ray room and space for physiotherapy.

“When we gathered to celebrate the opening of the first clinic last fall, no one could have predicted that we would be facing a global pandemic only five months later,” Jordan said.
“I am very proud of the positive impact our clinic has had in the community so far, especially during COVID-19. Our second clinic will provide critical services to improve the health and lives of more Charlotte residents, which is so important to me and Novant Health. ”
Patients can schedule appointments online, even for the same day, or learn more about providers and services available online at nhmichaeljordanclinic.org. Walk-ins are also offered.
