Ahead of the 2020 elections, President Akufo-Addo has asked Ghanaians to retain him in office to serve as president for the next four years.
This comes after he took first place on the ballot following Tuesday’s Election Commission vote for the 12 qualified presidential hopefuls.
The president said that just when he came first on the ballot, Ghanaians must make him the candidate with the most votes on Dec. 7.
It is “number 1 on the ballot. Let’s hold the top position on December 7, 2020 to do more for Ghanaians, ”he said in a Facebook post.
On Tuesday, the EC made the ballot of the political parties to place it on the voting sheet.
President Akufo-Addo, who is running on the New Patriotic Party (PNP) ballot, elected position number one, followed by former NDC opposition President John Mahama.
The two main parties were followed by the newly formed Ghana United Movement (GUM) and the Convention People’s Party (CPP) occupying the fourth position.
The leader of the Ghana Trade Union Movement, Osofo Kyiri Abosom, was next, followed by Ivor Greenstreet of the CPP.
All political parties are optimistic, these positions will play an important role in his victory on December 7.
After this, the general secretary of the party, John Boadu, said that the position number one facilitates the victory of the PNP.
Despite this belief, President Akufo-Addo has also implored Ghanaians to retain him in office for the next four years to complete the good works he started.
“Vote for Akufo-Addo and the PNP. # 4MoreForNana ”, he added.
