Liverpool’s squad ‘the most valuable’ in the Champions League
Liverpool’s squad is the most valuable in this season’s Champions League by reckoning.
Bookmakers Bet Victor cite their European football index as an estimate that Jurgen Klopp’s team now has a combined value of just under a billion pounds (£ 978,930,000).
His closest rivals in this regard are Premier League rivals Manchester City, with a team valued at approximately £ 944,460,000.
Perhaps tellingly, the English pair are now ahead of traditional Spanish powerhouses, Barcelona in third place, at £ 827,730,000 and Real Madrid in fifth, at £ 780,480,000.
They are separated by champion Bayern Munich in fourth place, at £ 782,060,000.
The rest of the top 10 is as follows:
6th Paris St-Germain £ 757,580,000
7th Chelsea £ 749,320,000
8th Manchester United £ 731,880,000
9th Atletico Madrid £ 657,630,000
Tenth International £ 628,290,000.
Interestingly, both Atlético and Inter are valued lower than Tottenham Hotspur, the top-rated team in the Europa League, at £ 680,450,000.
