Former President John Dramani Mahama says he will recover all confiscated bulldozers and concessions belonging to small miners allegedly given to New Patriotic Party supporters if he wins the 2020 election.
The NDC standard-bearer said this when he addressed a durbar of Agona Amenfi chiefs and people in the central Amenfi district on the first day of his four-day campaign tour of the Western Region.
Former President Mahama said that the government of the nuclear power plant has misled the miners and did not fulfill its promise to solve the problems faced by small-scale miners in the country, so it will address these problems.
“They have put aside those of us who do not belong to their party and not their relatives in the mining sector to starve and allow the faithful of the party and the DCE to get involved in mining. Sadly, these bulldozers are later turned over to nuclear power plant supporters who eventually send them back to do the same small-scale illegal mining. ”
“What it simply means is that some people are considered to be non-Ghanaian, so they are treated this way. That is why I have said that when we win the election, we will search everywhere for the confiscated excavators and return them to their rightful owners. We will also return all confiscated concessions that have been awarded to the people of the NPP party to their rightful owners. We will do this because all Ghanaians are human. We owe it to the Ghanaians because NDC is a party that hates the selectivity that Ghana’s declaration of independence also rejects. ”
The NDC standard-bearer also assured cocoa farmers of the return of the no cocoa fertilizer policy that the current administration has canceled.
