Real Madrid: 3 people who must improve after the defeat against Cádiz
Real Madrid center-back Sergio Ramos left Saturday’s loss to Cádiz with a knee injury, but could return this week.
Injuries continue to increase for Real Madrid, especially on defense. The Whites are already without their two right-backs, as Dani Carvajal will miss months due to an injury at the MCL, while Álvaro Odriozola has also been out in recent weeks.
Now, center-back and captain Sergio Ramos may miss a match as he left the pitch on Saturday night at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium with a sore left knee. He was replaced at half-time by Eder Militao, who returned to play well in the captain’s absence, although Ramos’ injury frustrated an inspiration for the comeback.
Real Madrid are reeling and need Ramos to return to the lineup soon. But they don’t want to rush anything either, as an aggravation or prolonged absence could be catastrophic. Note the Los Blancos Champions League record without the captain.
Sergio Ramos will try to play for Real Madrid against Shakhtar Donetsk
According to a MARCA report, Sergio Ramos will do his best to play against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday at the opening of Real Madrid’s 2020-2021 Champions League.
It seems that Ramos is not seriously injured, and his goal is at least to be ready for the Clásico on Saturday at the Camp Nou. After Barcelona and Real lost on Saturday, this Clásico becomes even more crucial. Even an early season Classic can decide the title race.

All eyes will be on Ramos as he does rehab work and tries to play on Wednesday. As last year’s draw with Club Brugge showed, no team in the competition can be underestimated. But with Militao playing so well recently, the best thing for Real is to tell their captain to slow down before the Clásico. Of course, Ramos will do his best to play anyway.
