Andy Robertson not impressed

The Liverpool left-back was unhappy with the challenges the Everton players were throwing at Goodison Park.

Robertson told Liverpool TV: “To be honest, I never saw [the Jordan Pickford challenge]. I saw Virg fall.

“But the guys when they came into halftime said it was a shocking challenge, so it’s two that we were finished with today.

“I think he was already offside and maybe they called him, but for me it was the same as Richarlison’s. The whistle had already blown and he flew in, it’s a red card.”

On Jordan Henderson’s late goal scored in chalk, he added: “I looked at when Thiago played the ball and I thought it might be [offside], would not be.

“But Hendo just scored the winning goal in the derby, we thought so, so you can’t stop celebrating.”

“So you wait for the decision and obviously the referee took a long time, we knew it was going to be a close match, we know that unfortunately it will not go in our favor.

“Look, it is what it is, we kept going. We probably needed a couple more minutes with the 10 men after the shocking challenge, and if we had a little time, maybe we would have taken advantage of it.”
