The President also announces that 73% of Livelihoods Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) recipients have enrolled in the National Health Insurance Plan (NHIS) for free.
He said that 5,522 people under LEAP have been linked to other productive and support programs to “help them get out of extreme poverty.”
Social welfare intervention projects, as tweeted by President Akufo-Addo, also include the disbursement of 80% of loans from the Microfinance and Small Loan Center (MASLOC) to female applicants.

The reason, according to him, is that women business owners are the backbone of the economy.
