Newcastle vs Manchester United recaps and reaction after 4-1 win

Manchester United managed a 4-1 victory on their return to Premier League action at Tyneside, when Bruno Fernandes, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Marcus Rashford scored late for three much-needed points.

Solskjaer provided some surprises with his team selection at St. James’ Park, with Scott McTominay and Fred as surprise starters, Paul Pogba on the bench and Mason Greenwood not on the team of the day.

Many fans were hoping to see Donny van de Beek and Alex Telles make their first league starts for the club and Luke Shaw’s own goal in the second minute did nothing to ease the fans’ frustration.

United responded well, but were initially denied a draw when a Fernandes goal was ruled out for offside. Maguire tied shortly after, and the scores were tied at the break.

Fernandes missed a penalty for United after the break, but atoned for it with the finisher before Wan-Bissaka and Rashford put the icing on the cake.
