43 ‘- As we approach the end of the half, Bayern are advancing with 70% possession and 90% passing accuracy. Bielefeld has tried to launch a few attacks, but has had no luck breaking through.
3. 4 ‘- Tolisso responds with a strong shot from the wing that forces Ortega to make a save. Bayern almost scored in the next corner, when Coco meets Lewandowski. He directs it over the bar.
33 ‘- Doan tests Neuer with a shot in the lower right corner. Neuer saves.
31 ‘- Klos with a close foul! Alaba takes him to the back of the area in a one-on-one with Neuer, but he can’t shoot and Neuer suffocates the ball.
29 ‘- Ortega arrives with a great save to prevent Lewandowski from scoring a header. It was Hernández who fought for the ball on the goal line and delivered a cross.
26 ‘- GOAL for Bayern! Goretzka escapes with the ball on the sideline and puts it inside Lewandowski in the area. Lewy throws it straight into the net. Zack, zack. 2-0.
17 ‘- Other! This time it is a corner that Müller knocks down. Goretzka hits the goal, but Ortega succeeds.
sixteen’ – Another great cross from Hernández arrives unmarked to Thomas Müller at the far post. Müller puts the ball into goal with a classic, clumsy style, but Ortega makes a quick reaction save to deny him a double.
13 ‘- Hernández finds Tolisso with a center to the area, but Coco with a head stops.
9 ‘- GOAL for Bayern! Niklas Süle passes the ball across the lines to Lewandowski, who throws it behind Thomas Müller’s back. Müller’s opening shot, or perhaps a pass intended for Coman, is blocked, but he puts the rebound at the net.
7 ‘ – Manuel Neuer runs out and takes the throw-in, because why not?
5 ‘ – Chippy Sequence: Alaba catches Klos, while Goretzka is thrown to the ground behind him. All are fortunately fine.
3 ‘- Gnabry falls into the box as two defenders push for the ball. The referee calls for a corner.
Kick off – We are underway in [REDCACTED]!
One hour until the start: We have lineups! Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry leave, but Alphonso Davies is rested. They will need it against Atlético.
MATCHDAY! Bayern Munich travels to … somewhere in Germany to face the newly promoted Arminia Bielefeld. The Bavarians have all of their players back from international service, but with a Champions League match looming on the horizon, Hansi Flick may want to rest more players than usual.
In terms of injuries, Bayern will be without Leroy Sane, Chris Richards and Tanguy Nianzou, although all three are doing well in their respective recoveries. Joshua Kimmich will not play either, as his partner is expecting their second child. A group of players, including Robert Lewandowski, David Alaba and Serge Gnabry, have just returned from the international break, so they may or may not be rested. Flick will have to rely on new signings like Douglas Costa, as well as the few veteran players who missed the international break (like Thomas Muller and Jerome Boateng) to be the backbone of the team.
This is a difficult position for a coach, especially since at Bayern he is expected to perform regardless of the circumstances. Even so, Hansi Flick has many players to achieve its goal. Hopefully you can figure something out and keep the points. We are not tired of winning yet.
It’s Bayern time.
