Guardiola gives his opinion on the City transfer window
In his notes on today’s match program, Pep Guardiola has expressed his opinion on the City transfer business.
“Since the last time I had a chance to speak to you, the transfer window has closed. I am delighted with the business we have done and I want to thank everyone at the club for their support.
“Nathan Ake has significant Premier League experience, he’s strong, fast, good in the air and can play multiple roles. It brings real quality to our squad and reinforces my options at the rear.
“Ferran Torres is a young player with a lot of potential. We have already seen that he has quick feet and a really sharp football brain. And honestly, for a player who is only 20 years old, his work ethic thus far has been incredible.
“Our new goalkeeper, Zack Steffen, has performed very well in our two Carabao Cup games. In terms of style, he is exactly the type of goalkeeper we need here at City.
“It was great to receive Rubén but, of course, it meant saying goodbye to Nico, a person I admire very much. A fighter, a quality defender and a great professional, I cannot thank him enough for his contribution during my time here. I will miss him and I know the whole team feels the same.
“We will also miss David Silva, Claudio Bravo and Leroy Sane. We wish everyone the best in their new adventures. “
