The standard bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has said that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been unfair to MP Assin Kennedy Agyapong in terms of constituency development.
John Mahama believes that the enormous role played by Kennedy Agyapong in the PNP should have deserved some development in his constituency.
Speaking on Woezor TV on Saturday, October 17, 2020, John Mahama said that the PNP could have been considered when fixing some main roads in the Assin constituency.
“Kennedy Agyapong has not been treated adequately if you look at his role in the PNP. I would have thought that their paths would be one of the paths that they would have prioritized ”.
He further said that some secondary roads in Nana Addo Dankwa’s hometown have been given priority despite having less traffic.
“When we awarded the cocoa route somewhere in Akuapim. One of the roads was the president’s hometown. From Apadwa through Kyebi to Bomso Junction. It was a path that we rewarded. And then we awarded the Twi-Praso road and several others in the cocoa growing areas.
And surprisingly, the nuclear power plant asked the contractor to stop, but made the contractor continue on the Apadwa-Kyebi-Bomso Junction road. That road, although it has less traffic, is finished and is a first class road. The cost of that road could have been used to repair the Twifo Praso road. As influential as Kennedy Agyapong is, he hoped his path would have been prioritized, he explained.
He also added that he will distribute resources evenly when he returns to power on December 7, 20202.
