Vitoria Guimaraes, of the highest Portuguese category, has confirmed that Gideon Mensah tested positive for coronavirus.
The Ghanaian defender participated in the international break, participating in both matches against Mali and Qatar.
The 22-year-old has isolated himself from the entire Vitoria Guimaraes squad and will isolate himself for the next 14 days while receiving treatment.
Mensah becomes the second Ghanaian player to test positive for the coronavirus after Bernard Mensah was confirmed with the virus after the international break.
Currently, Jones Abu Alhassan, a member of Black Stars management, is said to isolate himself in Turkey after he also tested positive.
Before the Mali game, four Eagles players were confirmed to have tested positive for the virus.
It remains to be seen the full extent of the spread of the virus in the Black Stars camp as players return to their respective clubs.
The left-back joined Vitória Guimarães on a one-season loan with an option to buy and has yet to appear this season.
