Everton XI vs Liverpool: team news confirmed, planned lineup, latest injuries for Merseyside derby

Everton got a triple boost ahead of their Merseyside derby clash with Liverpool.

Seamus Coleman, Allan and Andre Gomes have returned to training this week and are expected to be in shape for the Toffees meeting with their local rivals.

Both Gomes and Allan missed the win over Brighton before the international break, while Coleman was forced out during that game with a hamstring problem.

But speaking on Thursday afternoon, manager Carlo Ancelotti offered a positive assessment of the three players’ chances.

He said: “Andre Gomes is available for Saturday, no problem. Allan started training with the team this week. If nothing happens in the next few days he will be available to play against Liverpool.

“I think Seamus is going to be fine too, because he started training with us on Monday.”

Yerry Mina’s participation remains in doubt after he injured his thigh in international service with Colombia.

His absence could provide an opportunity for new signing Ben Godfrey to make his Everton debut against the Premier League champions.

Lucas Digne is also a doubt after suffering an injury playing for France with teenage defender Niels Nkounkou, who has impressed during cup outings so far this season, his likely replacement.

He predicted that Liverpool XI will face Everton (4-3-3): Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Godfrey, Nkounkou; Doucoure, Allan, Gomes; Rodríguez, Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.
