The standard bearer of the Democratic National Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has stated that the incessant robberies and killings across the country were a security concern.

Mr. Mahama expressed these concerns in separate durbars of Chiefs and People from Swedru, Gomoa-Obuasi and Dawurampong as part of his four-day tour of the Central Region.

“There is no curfew in Ghana, but many people cannot walk freely at night without being attacked by armed robbers, as evidenced by the murder of the late Mfantseman MP and the recent robbery on the Accra-Cape Coast highway,” he noted. .

However, he assured that a new NDC government will work to restore the dignity of the nation, promote peace, unity and ensure that all citizens are involved in the nation building agenda.

The NDC government will also touch souls, heal wounds, restore truth and dignity with opportunities created for all Ghanaians, not just a few privileged citizens.

Therefore, Mr. Mahama pleaded with NDC members and supporters to travel to all corners of the country with the NDC message contained in his People’s Manifesto.

He reiterated the Party’s commitment to regulate the “Okada” business, drastically improve the social infrastructure in education, health, roads, agriculture, among others.

The president of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, assured that the Party will do everything possible to regain power in the 2020 elections and return the country to the path of growth and development.

He accused the government of collapsing banks and delaying the general growth of the economy, thus worsening the unemployment rate and the plight of citizens.

“It is a rescue mission to stop corruption and the collapse of our democratic institutions, and to restore hope and confidence in the future,” Ampofo said as he mustered collective efforts to convincingly win the December 7 elections.
