President Akufo-Addo has commended the winners of the 2020 National Science and Mathematics Questionnaire (NSMQ) for their success in this year’s competition.
The president said that PRESEC wins its sixth NSMQ trophy making it “undisputed champions of the competition.”
The president made the remarks when the guys from ‘Odadie’ paid him a courtesy call with their trophy, at his request.
“It has become a tradition since I assumed the presidency of the Republic for the winners of the NSMQ and the organizers of the contest to visit the Jubilee House.
“This year it is the turn of the ‘Odadies’ who impressed the entire nation with their performance. You were second last year and you have taken another step towards the top position this year, so I applaud you, ”he said at the meeting.
Legon Presec, took his sixth trophy after beating Opoku Ware SHS (OWASS) and Adisadel College (Adisco) in the final with 36 points, against 31 from Adisco and 21 from OWASS.
The dream was made possible by his players, super substitute Isaac Kofi Gyamfi, Benjamin Quansah Nketsiah and Gakpetor Daniel Kekeli, who shared that the dream was made possible by hard work, perseverance and the vision of winning the trophy.
The president also praised the past and current management of the school for its role in producing personalities who have contributed their quota to national development.
“PRESEC is one of the best SHS, if not the best in the country… As an ‘honorary Odadie’, I am proud of this achievement,” he said.
“The PRESECANS continue to make their mark and continue to play an important role in the development of the country and, in fact, there are quite a few PRESECANS in my government.
“I must also put on record that in this current Parliament, PRESEC has produced the largest number of MPs, that is, 14 and I am particularly proud of that because 12 of them are members of my party.
“Let that continue for a long time,” he added.
