The Sariki Zongo of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai has warned young people in the area not to allow politicians to mislead them into fomenting trouble before, during and after the 2020 general election.

Nana Sulemana Awudu Mienasara III said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at her palace.

“They trick you with tokens and food packages into fighting for them to gain power, only to avoid you when they achieve their goal. This time let’s remove that label of “bad reputation” for the Zongos and shame these selfish seekers of power, “he warned.

The chief also reminded Ghanaians that the election was not about fighting, but only about an opportunity for the people to elect their leaders, and this must not degenerate into chaos and anarchy to destabilize the country and compromise the peaceful coexistence proven by time.

He also urged young people in Zongo communities and constituencies across the country to leave polling stations after casting their ballots to avoid getting in trouble with election officials.

Sariki Zongo, who is also the Western North Zongo Chiefs Patron, described this year’s election as crucial and unique and called on all stakeholders to approach the exercise with a high sense of responsibility and patriotism in order for it to be successful, peaceful and to improve. on the democracy of the nation.

“All religious groups must also continue to pray to ensure a peaceful election in December 2020,” he said.
