Sergio Agüero believes that he and Lionel Messi are “like an old couple” when they are on duty together in Argentina.

“He always complains, we are like an old married couple,” Aguero joked on the Santo Sábado program via Diario Sport.

“I always go to sleep with the television on and when I wake up the next morning, he always complains to me.

‘He arrives at the hotel and instantly showers while I’m sitting talking on my cell phone. Then he will remind me that we have to go down to dinner and we don’t have time.

Messi played the full 90 minutes Tuesday when goals from Inter Milan star Lautaro Martínez and Joaquín Correa sealed a 2-1 away win for Argentina against Bolivia in their second World Cup Qualifier before the tournament in Qatar. in 2022.

But four days earlier, the Barcelona star scored his 71st goal for his country against Ecuador.

The penalty in Buenos Aires also brought him six goals from Pelé’s count, with the Brazilian legend the all-time top scorer for any South American nation.

The strike also saw Messi go to 21 goals in the World Cup qualifiers, with his former Barcelona teammate and good friend Luis Suárez currently leading the group on that front with 22 goals.

Meanwhile, Agüero is the third top scorer in Argentina’s history and is only behind Gabriel Batistuta and Messi on his country’s top scorers list.
