Joseph Aidoo will play in defense
Head coach CK Akonnor has made five roster changes for tonight’s friendly match against Asian champions Qatar.
Goalkeeper Razak Abalora has had a chance to start in the spot ahead of Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
Young Benson Annan will play as a right back with Gideon Mensah maintaining his place at the left back. Alexander Djiku, who was deployed in a midfield position against Mali, moves to central defense to accompany Joseph Aidoo. Djiku and Aidoo will play at the heart of the defense in place of Nicholas Opoku (injured) and Kassim Nuhu Adams.
In midfield, Baba Iddrisu replaces Bernard Mensah. Baba will team up with Thomas Teye-Partey to cover the bottom line.
Saudi winger Samuel Owusu makes his way into the starting lineup for tonight’s game. Owusu will play on the right wing of Ghana’s attack in place of Eugene Ansah. While Tarique Fosu operates on the left wing with captain Andre Ayew playing in the hole behind striker Jordan Ayew.
The Black Stars hope to improve their performance tonight against Qatar. The game is part of Ghana’s preparation for next month’s 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan.
