The Kpando constituency can be found in the Volta region of Ghana and is considered a safe seat for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The opposition NDC has been in power in the constituency for years, as efforts to get the PNP to take over have been unsuccessful.
According to electoral statistics from 1996 to 2016, the NDC wins the presidential and parliamentary elections consecutively by a large margin.
The incumbent Member of Parliament who opposed the NDC ballot is Della Sowah. He has held this position since 2012 and is seeking reelection in the next elections on December 7.
