Maritzburg United have identified Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse to replace Richard Ofori, whose move to the Orlando Pirates seems increasingly likely.
This website has been reliably informed that Pieterse has been identified as the gatekeeper who will replace Ofori if he joins The Buccaneers.
The Choice Team is in talks with Pirates for Ofori, and it is understood that they want left-back Tebogo Tlolane in a permanent deal to sweeten the deal for the Ghanaian.
Tlolane was on loan at Maritzburg last season and has recently returned for another season.
“It is clear that Ofori will leave Maritzburg United now and the team has identified Reyaad Pieterse, he is on his way to the province, he is ready to replace the outgoing Ofori,” a source close to the club told KickOf.com.
Pieterse’s agent, Gary Cassisa, declined to comment on his client’s future.
The 28-year-old found little playing time at Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United and Sundowns, but could eventually win regular football in KwaZulu-Natal if a deal is made for Ofori to leave.
As revealed on Friday, Maritzburg will also introduce Pieterse’s Sundowns teammate Jose Ali Meza and former Polokwane City midfielder Sibusiso Hlubi as new signings this weekend.
