Manchester United legend Roy Keane has warned head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that Red Devils players will ‘throw him under the bus’.
It hasn’t been a good start for United, having lost two Premier League games from the top four so far. The Red Devils started this campaign with a loss to Crystal Palace and before the international break, Solskjaer’s men suffered a humiliating 6-1 home loss to Tottenham.
The performance has put Solskjaer under pressure with reports suggesting that the club is considering Mauricio Pochettino as a possible replacement for the Norwegian. Keane warned the United manager that he could suffer the same fate that José Mourinho suffered at Old Trafford when he blamed the players for the dismissal of Special One two years ago.
Speaking to ITV, Keane said: “The performance against the Spurs was disgraceful.”
“We’ve all been to football, we’ve had bad days, but I thought it was a shame for the insignia some of the players’ performances. Too many bluffs.”
Ole’s work
“Ultimately I think it will cost Ole his job. With the players, he got there. I’ve said it before, they fired the previous coach [Mourinho] under the bus and they’ll do the exact same thing to Ole. “
United will face Newcastle United on October 17 in the Premier League after the international break.
