England used Mason Mount from the bench in their win over Wales on Thursday night, with some Chelsea fans on Twitter praising their player for his impact.

Gareth Southgate’s England recorded a comfortable 3-0 win at Wembley in the friendly against Wales as they prepare for the Nations League matches in the coming days against Belgium and Denmark.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Conor Coady and Danny Ings were on the Three Lions roster as the coach took a good look at some of his team’s players.

Despite not having representatives in the starting eleven, the duo of Chelsea Mount and Reece James were introduced as substitutes during the second half, with the latter making his full debut for his country.

Mount showed the kind of pace of work and effort for England that he regularly has at Stamford Bridge, adding a bit more intention going forward and cleverly bonding with his teammates.

The 21-year-old is already popular with Blues manager Frank Lampard at the club level and continues to get minutes under Southgate.

He is an attacking midfielder who is a real creative threat in the final third and would have received an assist if Bukayo Saka had finished better in front of goal.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media liked what they saw of Mount in his international performance and feel it made a big impact.
