NDC to introduce agricultural processing factories – Mahama

Democratic National Congress standard-bearer John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his stance on establishing an agricultural product processing factory to foster diversity in agriculture, especially in the North West region.

This, he says, is intended to process raw produce into a more refined state to end post-harvest losses that are the result of a lack of proper processing technologies.

“When we are given the mandate to govern, we will introduce agricultural product processing factories to help farmers process and value their products, and the North Western Region is highly regarded when the issue of agriculture is raised,” he said. .

Addressing the chiefs and people of Anhwiaso in the north western region, he said that the lack of agricultural processing factories prevents farmers from adding value to their raw products and therefore they cannot make the most of their efforts.

“After farming, farmers don’t have access to a place where they can modify their produce in a variety of shapes and forms to add value to them while saving costs and making sense of their hard work,” he said.
