The Keta Municipal Assembly has begun distributing nasal masks to market to women prior to the implementation of the President’s directive on the mandatory use of nasal masks.

Godwin Edudzi Effah, Keta Municipal Executive Director (MCE), said the donation saw 250 nasal masks and 660 alcohol-based hand sanitizers distributed to merchants in the Keta market after raising awareness of the importance and application of the use of nasal masks.

He said: “The Assembly cannot buy the nasal mask for everyone, so this exercise is only to educate the public about what is coming and what we must do to prevent [ourselves from contracting] the virus.”

“The Assembly has already put up obstacles to control people who enter the Municipality, but we are saying that since Monday, without the nasal mask, entry is not allowed, regardless of their examination. It is mandatory that you wear your mask,” he said. the MCE.
