The San Jose Earthquakes and LA Galaxy were found to violate Major League Soccer’s policy of mass confrontation after the two sides clashed in their game on October 3.
As these are the clubs’ first violations, they were issued a warning, while Quakes forward Chris Wondolowski and Galaxy forwards Cristian Pavón and Javier “Chicharito” Hernández received undisclosed fines by the MLS Disciplinary Committee for your participation in events.
The fight was sparked when Quakes defender Nick Lima and Galaxy midfielder Joe Corona collided while vying for a ball. Corona pushed Lima’s head and other players got involved in the skirmish.

Referee Robert Sibiga consulted a courtside video monitor about the incident, but only gave Corona and Jackson Yueill yellow cards for their involvement.
San Jose won the game 2-1, leaving the Galaxy in last position in the MLS Western Conference with just 15 points from 14 games.
