The CEO of Cocobod has said that the audit report carried out on the construction of the cocoa roads in some parts of the country cannot be made public.

Joseph Boahen Aidoo said the report was intended to help project management and emphasized that people who have an interest in it must go through the required application process.

“No one is hiding anything from anyone regarding this report, why do we have to publish it? This was the Cocobod operation, it was thought for an administrative purpose, if you need it, you just have to request it, ”he said.

In an interview with JoyNews’ Evans Mensah on Top Story, he emphasized that the Mahama administration did not give Ghanaians good value for money in awarding those contracts.

Although it did not reach the specific amount saved through the audit, it revealed that “we saved hundreds of millions.”

Former President John Mahama challenged the government to publish the Cacao Roads Audit Report, which accused him of awarding more than 230 highway contracts worth ¢ 3.5 billion under the Cacao Roads Project. cocoa to the detriment of Cocobod’s finances.

The New Patriotic Party (PNP), therefore, halted construction of cacao roads across the country in 2017 over allegations of inflated costs among other irregularities.

NDC standard-bearer John Mahama has challenged the government to produce such a report, adding that the government deliberately began rebuilding roads a few months before the elections for political gain.

Mr. Joseph Boahen Aidoo has promised that he and his team, as well as the nuclear power plant, will continue to build the roads they suspended.
