Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said that the Akufo-Addo-led government has laid a solid foundation during his first term for prosperous socio-economic development in his second term.

Therefore, Ghanaians must not make the mistake of voting for the incompetent ‘bricklayer’ John Mahama, NDC standard bearer, to spoil the fortunes of the country’s anticipated progress.

Vice President Bawumia made the remarks at a mini rally at Abelemkpe in Ayawaso West Wuogon, to conclude his working tour of the Accra region.

Dr. Bawumia said that the Mahama-led government was a total failure and that it cannot be trusted to continue the good policies initiated by the NPP government in power under President Akufo-Addo.

He cited flagship programs and policies initiated by the PNP government, including free upper secondary school, planting for food and jobs, a district, a warehouse, a constituency, an ambulance, a village, a dam, and a District, One- Factory.

He further explained that the ruling government had also reinstated the nursing teacher / apprentice allowance canceled by the previous administration, paid two billion Ghana cedis in arrears from the NHIS left by the NDC government, and fulfilled 80 percent of its 2016 election campaign promises.

Ms Lydia Seyram Alhassan, PNP parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, said that the ruling government had paved the deplorable roads in the constituency, started building an Astro Turf and a health center in the area.

She described Dr. Bawumia as a smart and hardworking vice president, and said he has distinguished himself as a knowledge powerhouse in the field of economics and economic management as head of the Government’s Economic Management Team.

“The vice president is very smart and hardworking, so I beg you to vote for me and President Akufo-Addo to continue our good work.

“Never in the history of Ghana has a vice president been so visible and notable in government business,” he added.
