Ghana international Albert Adomah has joined Queens Park Rangers from the England Championship, the club announced.
The 32-year-old completed a two-year contract with the Superhoops on the day of the transfer deadline, a few days after canceling his contract with Nottingham Forest.
“Albert Adomah has signed for QPR, agreeing to a two-year contract with the club,” QPR announced on its official website on Monday.
“R’s fan Adomah left Nottingham Forest last week so he’s joining as a free agent.”
London-born Adomah will wear jersey number 37 at his new club.
“This is unbelievable, unbelievable! Imagine being a fan and playing for the club you love. Words can’t even describe it. It’s just amazing, it’s a pleasure to be here,” said the winger.
“They were my home team and as I passed the stadium when I was young, I thought that one day I might play for this club. This is just surreal.”
“All I can see now is Bobby Zamora scoring at Wembley. I should be here talking about myself, but that’s all I can think of right now!”
Adomah hopes to further QPR’s quest for Premier League promotion, having successfully helped Middlesbrough and Aston Villa achieve the feat in the past.
“It is a very competitive league,” said the Ghanaian.
“All teams want to move up. I’ve done it twice and it’s a beautiful feeling.
“If I could get a third promotion it would be one of my great achievements. That is my ambition. “
QPR is Adomah’s seventh club in 10 years, a career based largely on the second level of English.
“It’s great that we were able to bring Albert in,” said QPR manager Mark Warburton.
“We only have Geoff Cameron and Lee Wallace over 30 in the locker room so I am delighted to add Albert, he will provide a great experience.
“I spoke to people from Nottingham Forest who spoke enthusiastically about his professionalism, his character and what he brings on and off the court.
“He’s a proven player at this level, comfortable on both flanks, he’s still a good age, a kid from London and a QPR fan so it’s great to have him on board.”
Adomah has also played for Barnet, Bristol City and Cardiff City.
He was a member of the Ghana squad at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
