Stop insulting players returning to the Ghana Premier League

Customs Stars livewire, Yahaya Mohammed has implored his supporters to stop insulting players who are returning to the Ghana Premier League to relaunch their career.

As part of plans to revive the national league, players who have played in Europe and are not currently attached have been asked to return to the local league.

Asamoah Gyan has been linked to Asante Kotoko, while Sulley Muntari has also received suggestions to join Hearts of Oak ahead of the 2020/21 football season.

Yahaya, who returned to the local league after failing outside of Ghana, believes the former players should be encouraged to return to the league.

He stressed that the non-sponsored Ghana Premier League will attract sponsors should the two players return to the local league, but warned fans to desist from insulting players returning to the league.

“He will help the Ghana league in various ways. Why can’t Gyan play in the local league if players like Kaka and Ronaldinho went home to play in the Brazilian league? His presence will help in acquiring sponsorships,” he said . Hi FM.

“I can tell you that the day Asamoah Gyan signs for a local club, the following week, we will get a great sponsorship for the league.

“Look where Gyan has gotten in his football career, but you will see someone insulting him. It is time for the fans to behave.

“The insult must be professional. We must educate the fans to have the majority of the old players in our league.

“It will make the league exciting and easy to get sponsorship as well. In the long round, everyone, including the fans, will benefit, “he added.
