The Cape Coast District Registration Review Committee has rejected by majority decision a challenge filed against the NDC parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast North, Dr. Kwamena Mintah Nyarku.

NDC Cape Coast North’s parliamentary candidate was challenged a second time when he went to register based on a Superior Court order.

On the basis of the commission’s recommendation, the electoral commission has delivered the candidate’s voter registration card.

Dr. Kwamena Mintah Nyarku’s card was withheld after a challenge against him by Cape Coast North youth organizer Anthony Arkoh-Korsah.

The challenge was based on the fact that he did not belong to the categories of persons listed by the EC to enroll in the limited registry because he had already enrolled in the mass registration exercise organized by the commission and that he does not qualify based on residential status.

The committee’s authorization paves the way for the candidate to present his nomination when the Election Commission opens the process on Monday.

Kwamena Mintah Nyarku thanked the NDC for standing solidly behind him when problems arose.

Additionally, he praised his attorneys for their strength and dedication towards his victory.

“I thank the NDC and my attorneys for supporting me during this trip. Attorney Samuel Adu Yeboah was of immense help.

“He stood firm behind me in all of this. Today is one of the happiest days of my life. This victory means a lot to me ”, he affirmed.

NDC supporters harassed him and congratulated him on his victory and promised to support him in removing the current Member of Parliament from Cape Coast North, Babara Asher Ayisi.
