Manchester United may be struggling on the transfer front, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at least has a near clean state of health in his squad ahead of this weekend’s game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Solskjaer has already confirmed that Harry Maguire should be fine to start, as he missed the Carabao Cup win over Brighton midweek. Axel Tuanzebe is still injured.
United are hopeful that many players have played enough minutes to be in top form as they seek a third victory in a row, having lost their first game of the new season.
Here, our MEN United writers choose their teams to face Spurs:

Before Paul Pogba’s cameo in the Carabao Cup against Brighton, he could well have come out of Solskjaer’s 11 favorites to face Tottenham. But the fact that Pogba scored and looked happy and confident, plus United’s need for a robust midfield against José Mourinho’s side, means he should start with Donny van de Beek against Tottenham.
A switch to a diamond would allow Solskjaer to include his three star midfielder names, as well as Nemanja Matic, with United needing the Serb’s defensive nous against Harry Kane and company. Eric Bailly is the best central defensive option for Victor Lindelof right now and he deserves to start.
This system at least gives United some attacking options to take off the bench, including Mason Greenwood and Juan Mata, with Fred and Scott McTominay supporting midfield. The pace and movement of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford should be of concern to the Spurs defense.

United have the luxury of a real selection headache coming into the game against Tottenham, but it should still be pretty straightforward based on their strongest XI.
Bailly has been flawless in both appearances for the club this season, so he deserves a start alongside Maguire, while Pogba’s late cameo against Brighton midweek was a timely response to Van de Beek’s impressive form since signed.
James has looked a shadow of who he was lately, but he should be back on the bench for this one with Greenwood, Rashford and Martial being the only three viable forwards for a game of this magnitude.
