Ameenu Shardow, the Administrative Manager of Dreams FC, surprisingly went public that the club has not been giving salaries to its players during the COVID-19 period.
Several Ghana Premier League clubs were affected by the pandemic with some even suggesting pay cuts to players during the suspension and eventual cancellation of the competition.
Shardow, in his interview on Joy FM, stated that the club’s lack of cash hit the players’ pockets a lot.
“We had an argument [with the players] about it. One great thing about Dreams FC is that we operate the club in a corporate vein but as a family. When we are happy and we have the resources, everyone enjoys and knows it. We are very open about that. “
“Where there are also difficulties, people are aware. Actually people [players] We were drawn to the difficulties and we were trying to find solutions for the club to stay afloat, so for us and I’m sure it goes through a lot of clubs, even superpowers. He added that the situation has taught his club a valuable lesson.
