The Ghana international was in action as Steve Cooper’s men continued their impressive start to the season at Liberty Stadium.

Andre Ayew appeared as Swansea City secured a 2-1 victory over Millwall in Saturday’s championship game.

The 30-year-old forward has had impressive performances for the Swans since the start of the 2020-21 campaign.

The Ghana international opened his season account against Wycombe Wanderers and also provided an assist in the match to ensure his team secured all three points last time out.

Following the eye-catching display, the versatile forward had his fourth season start at Liberty Stadium and made the most of the opportunity.

Both teams missed several scoring chances as they entered the break without finding the back of the net.

The second half, however, saw more scoring action and Millwall broke the deadlock through Jake Bidwell after he was cheated on by Morgan Gibbs-White in the 46th minute.

Tom Bradshaw leveled the procedures for Steve Cooper’s men five minutes later after benefiting from the assistance of Shaun Hutchinson.

Ben Cabango then scored the all-important game-winning goal for Swansea in the 68th minute, shooting home from close range.

Ayew, who performed for the duration of the game, made four key passes, had 55 touches in the match.

The forward hopes to help Swansea continue their impressive start to the season when they face Huddersfield Town in their next league game on 17 October.

Ayew partnered with the Liberty Stadium team in January 2018 for his second period and has appeared in more than 55 league games for the team despite spending the 2018-19 season on loan with Fenerbahce.

The forward is currently the captain of the Ghana national team and has more than 80 appearances for the West Africans.

He was captain of the Black Stars at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt and is expected to play a key role in the Afcon and World Cup qualifiers.
