10 players who could still leave Liverpool before the transfer window closes

[ad_1]

It seems unlikely that Liverpool will make late moves in the transfer market following the signings of Thiago and Diogo Jota.

Jurgen Klopp’s first team is settled and now seems to have much more depth at every position.

But there are still several players who are on the periphery. With just a few days of the transfer window remaining, Liverpool could look to cut their squad.

Here is a selection of some of the players who could leave before Monday’s deadline.

Marko Grujic

West Ham and Southampton are believed to be interested in the midfielder, who spent the last two seasons on loan at Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga.

Grujic is clearly not going to be a regular in a midfield that includes players like Thiago, Gini Wijnaldum, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. But he impressed in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup qualifiers against Lincoln and Arsenal.

It remains to be seen if the 24-year-old has done enough to earn Klopp’s trust.

xherdan Shaqiri

Klopp has suggested that Shaqiri is no longer in their plans, not even as a supporting actor. The diminutive winger’s lack of involvement against Arsenal on Thursday night was evidence enough of that, especially when the coach revealed that he was not lost due to injury.

Lazio, Roma and Sevilla are believed to be interested in the Swiss international, who could leave on Monday.

Harry wilson

There has been talk that Wilson may receive a pardon if Shaqiri leaves, although Burnley remains interested.

They made a £ 16 million offer for the 23-year-old, back at the club after spending last season on loan at Bournemouth. But the Reds reportedly want more money for the Welshman.

Ben woodburn

Another young Welsh international and another player whose future at Liverpool looks increasingly bleak.

The 20-year-old looked like a real prospect when he broke into the first team in 2016, but the standards at the club are astronomically high now. Woodburn spent last season on loan at Oxford League One, and could return to the third tier if Hull moves in to sign him.

Nathaniel Phillips

Phillips, now 23, is going to have a hard time getting into Liverpool’s defense.

The towering central defender is likely to be sent on another loan to a Bundesliga or Championship club, and after that he could begin to consider his long-term future.

Yasser Larouci

Larouci could be sold on Monday, with Norwich leading the race for the young Algerian.

The left-back has Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas ahead of him in the pecking order, so first-team football at Anfield will always be hard to come by.

Herbie kane

Like several of the players mentioned above, Kane is young, but is now at an age where he will consider his options.

The 21-year-old midfielder has linked up with Hull and could look to seize the opportunity of more regular football.

Liam Millar

Several clubs are believed to be interested in Millar, including Stoke City, Millwall, QPR, Blackburn Rovers, Wycombe Wanderers and Rotherham United.

If the forward prefers a loan abroad, Rayo Vallecano and FC Zwolle could also be options.

Gini Wijnaldum

There was a very real concern that Wijnaldum might head to Barcelona earlier this month, particularly after Thiago’s arrival.

That seems highly unlikely now, but the midfielder’s contract remains a problem, and a late raid by Ronald Koeman cannot be completely ruled out. Liverpool, however, may be willing to let the Dutchman finish his final year if he does not sign a new contract.

Sepp van den berg

Great things are expected from Van den Berg, but he may need to gain experience outside of Liverpool before finding himself associated with Virgil van Dijk.

Eredivisie and Bundesliga clubs. 2 are reportedly interested in the 18-year-old defender, who could go on loan before the transfer window closes.
