Producing secular songs doesn’t make you less Christian

Award-winning gospel musician Cwesi Oteng has revealed that he sees nothing wrong with a Christian making secular music.

Speaking in an interview with ZionFelix on the ‘Uncut’ show, the musician, who is also a pastor, said that a good Christian can still come out with secular songs, but more important is content. As long as you don’t preach violence, then that’s okay.

Pastor Oteng went ahead and revealed how he is mentoring a member of his church who wants to pursue Dancehall music. He added that Christians should be allowed to make secular music because there is nothing wrong with it.

He added that Christians who are forced to make gospel music instead of secular music are always struggling to make hit songs because their talent is in making secular music.

Cwesi argued that American singer Justin Bieber has not abandoned secular music after giving his life to Jesus Christ. For him, Justin is now impacting more lives and winning souls for the Kingdom of God with his secular music.
