For the second time in the space of three days, Arsenal and Liverpool meet.
Earlier in the week, they resumed their Premier League friendships at Anfield as the Reds avenged recent defeats by winning 3-1 despite falling behind Alexandre Lacazette’s goal.
And they will fight again Thursday night, this time in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup in a replay of last season’s tie on the same stage that ended 5-5 after 90 minutes.

It was the home team that would progress on penalties and, speaking before the next match, Jurgen Klopp’s assistant coach, Pepijn Lijnders, delivered bad injury news during a fitness update.
Captain Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kostas Tsimikas are the four of the five players Klopp will be without in the Gunners game.
“Jordan, we will re-evaluate on Friday after this game to see if he can be ready for Aston Villa,” Lijnders told the club’s official website. “Joel is the same as what I said last week, it will be ready [after] the international break and use the time to prepare for the game against Everton.
“Ox is progressing well. He is on the right track and it is very important to him that this first phase runs smoothly.
“But of course that takes a lot longer.
“We have Kostas, who after Lincoln’s game had a thigh problem. We thought it would be resolved, it didn’t, so he will need more time.
“He will not be involved on Thursday and not on Sunday either.”

Another Liverpool player who will miss the game at Anfield is the summer signing of Thiago Alcantara.
The 29-year-old, who also missed out on Monday night’s victory, tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating according to necessary guidelines.
“It is up to each individual to publicly disclose the result of a COVID-19 test,” said Liverpool first team physician Dr. Jim Moxon. “We have followed all the protocols to the letter and Thiago is fine. Now he will isolate himself according to the guidelines and we hope that he will return to us soon.”
