Liverpool have offered a hint as to who could line up against Arsenal at the Carabao Cup on Thursday night after Melwood’s latest training photos were released.
Top hitters like Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Alisson Becker were not photographed training Tuesday after playing Monday night against Arsenal in the Premier League, although Naby Keita was present.
Most of those who played on Monday would have had a recovery session, away from the cameras.
But the photos offer a reminder of just how tight the games are over the next several weeks, with preparations for the Reds’ next game underway.
In the attacking areas, Rhian Brewster (despite continued speculation about his future at Anfield), Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino, Harvey Elliott, Harry Wilson and Xherdan Shaqiri were all in action.
In midfield, Curtis Jones, James Milner and Marko Grujic were photographed.

And in the back, Billy Koumetio and Rhys Williams were the only central defenders to break, as Sepp van den Berg played for the Under-21s in the EFL Trophy loss to Tranmere last night.
Second-choice wingers Kostas Tsimikas and Neco Williams were there.
While Adrian is likely to start in goal, he was seen training alongside Caoimhin Kelleher.
Thiago Alcantara, for his part, will be absent until after the international break after he tested positive for COVID-19.
Other bigger Liverpool stars are likely to return to training today.
But given the tight shift and the relative importance of the Carabao Cup compared to the Premier League, it seems likely that Jurgen Klopp will choose a team primarily from those shown in training yesterday afternoon.
His team will play Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon as their goal is to achieve four wins out of four while defending their Premier League title.
